If the water pressure is too low, the water volume will be too small, which will affect the normal water use of the owner. In order to solve the water use problem, many high-rise residents will install booster pumps or self-priming pumps. So what is the difference between self-priming pumps and booster pumps?

What is the difference between self-priming pumps and booster pumps?
1. Different water supply methods
Self-priming pumps and booster pumps cannot be mixed, because self-priming pumps are generally used in pipe water supply in tap water, water heaters, etc., while booster pumps are generally used in pipe water supply for heating circulation.
2. Different working methods
Self-priming pumps are generally turned on and run according to needs, while booster pumps are generally operated 24 hours a day.
3. Different functions
Self-priming pumps generally only have self-priming and boosting functions, while booster pumps generally only have boosting functions, not self-priming functions. Only when water flows into the pump will it have boosting functions.
4. Different water levels
The water level in the pipeline of the self-priming pump is generally lower than that of the self-priming pump, while the water level in the pipeline of the booster pump is generally higher than that of the booster pump. In order to avoid the phenomenon that the water meter is sucked and broken by the self-priming pump, it is recommended that you should not install a self-priming pump directly on the tap water pipeline.
5. Different installation positions
The self-priming pump is generally installed on the water inlet pipeline. Just cut off a section of the original pipeline and then connect the self-priming pump in series to the pipeline. The booster pump is generally installed on the return water pipeline, which can increase the pressure in the system. Generally, just cut off a section of the original pipeline and then connect the booster pump in series to the pipeline.
6. Different applications
If the water does not break off, then you can use a booster pump. If the water often breaks off, then you should prepare a container similar to a water tank. If a drain pipe is installed on the container, then you can install a booster pump. If there is no drain pipe installed on the container, then you can only use a self-priming pump.
