Hospital Wastewater Treatment Equipment

Working Principle
The hospital wastewater treatment system operates in three stages. The first stage is pre-treatment: medical wastewater first passes through a dedicated septic tank for preliminary sedimentation and anaerobic fermentation, where large particulate matter and sediment are intercepted and decomposed. Septic tank effluent passes through mechanical bar screens to remove solid debris before entering an equalization tank for flow and quality balancing. Because hospital wastewater is infectious, the equalization tank and pre-treatment units are equipped with strict sealing and ventilation disinfection measures. The second stage is biological treatment: equalized wastewater enters a biological contact oxidation tank or MBR reactor, where aerobic microorganisms degrade organic pollutants in the wastewater. Hospital wastewater has higher organic concentrations than domestic sewage and contains surfactants and other refractory components, so the system is designed with larger biological retention times and higher sludge concentrations to ensure treatment effectiveness. Biological treatment can effectively remove 70% to 90% of COD and BOD from wastewater. The third stage is advanced disinfection: biologically treated effluent enters a disinfection contact tank where disinfectants (sodium hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide, or ultraviolet disinfection) are applied to kill pathogenic microorganisms. The disinfection contact time is no less than 1.5 hours to ensure fecal coliform counts are reduced below discharge standards. For infectious disease hospitals or special department wastewater, the system includes a pre-disinfection step at the pre-treatment stage to kill high-concentration pathogenic microorganisms before subsequent treatment.
Product Features
First, thorough pathogenic microorganism removal. The system features pre-disinfection and final disinfection barriers, combined with microbial competitive inhibition during biological treatment, creating multiple pathogen removal barriers to ensure effluent biological safety. Second, fully enclosed negative pressure operation. All units that may produce odors and aerosols are sealed and maintained under negative pressure, with exhaust gas treated through disinfection before release, eliminating the risk of pathogen transmission through aerosols. Third, high degree of automation. The system is equipped with PLC automatic control systems that automatically complete all treatment processes including influent, aeration, disinfection, sludge discharge, and effluent, reducing opportunities for operator contact with wastewater. Fourth, strong emergency response capability. The equipment is equipped with dual disinfection systems and emergency chemical dosing devices that automatically switch to backup systems if the main disinfection equipment fails, ensuring uninterrupted treatment. Fifth, compact footprint. The integrated design makes equipment layout compact, suitable for installation in space-limited areas within medical facilities or basements. Sixth, quiet low-noise operation. Equipment uses low-noise blowers and sound insulation design, not affecting normal hospital medical activities.

Application Scenarios
SUN EURO POLO hospital wastewater treatment equipment has been widely used in general hospitals (treating comprehensive medical wastewater from outpatient departments, inpatient wards, operating rooms, and laboratories), infectious disease hospitals (treating highly infectious wastewater with enhanced disinfection), dental hospitals (treating mercury-containing and high-bacteria wastewater), pet hospitals (treating animal medical wastewater), township health centers (small-scale decentralized medical wastewater treatment), medical testing centers (treating wastewater containing chemical reagents and biological samples), and hospital laundry wastewater treatment. In a general hospital project in Africa, a 300 m³/day equipment array achieved stable fecal coliform counts below 100 per liter, far below local discharge standard requirements, effectively ensuring environmental safety for the surrounding community.
Company Strength
SUN EURO POLO has accumulated rich professional experience in the field of medical wastewater treatment. Over the company's 17-year history, we have provided over 500 sets of wastewater treatment equipment to medical institutions in more than 30 countries worldwide, including numerous hospital-specific systems. We hold 15 core technology patents, several of which involve medical wastewater disinfection optimization control, enclosed odor treatment, and intelligent chemical dosing systems. The company has passed ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification, and CE certification, with product quality and safety meeting international standards. Our technical team includes senior engineers specializing in medical environmental engineering, familiar with sewage discharge regulations and technical standards for medical institutions in various countries. The production base is equipped with precision processing equipment and comprehensive testing equipment; every hospital wastewater treatment unit undergoes strict airtightness testing and disinfection effectiveness verification before delivery. With an annual production capacity of 500 sets, we can quickly respond to medical institution construction and expansion needs.

After-Sales Service
SUN EURO POLO provides professional and timely after-sales service for medical institution customers. We understand the special nature of hospital wastewater treatment systems that cannot be shut down, and have therefore established a rapid response service mechanism. Before the project, our technical team communicates fully with hospital logistics and infection management departments to understand department configurations, bed counts, treatment characteristics, and environmental requirements to develop the most suitable treatment solution. During installation, we strictly follow medical facility construction specifications to ensure normal hospital operations are not affected. During commissioning, we provide specialized infection protection training for hospital operators, teaching safe operation protocols and emergency procedures. During the warranty period, we provide regular inspections and preventive maintenance, timely replacement of disinfectants, filters, and wear parts. We maintain adequate inventories of key spare parts to ensure solutions are provided within 24 hours and critical parts arrive on-site within 48 hours of receiving repair requests. Additionally, we provide periodic water quality testing services to help hospitals maintain complete wastewater treatment operation records to meet environmental regulatory requirements. Our global service network ensures we can provide professional technical support to medical institutions wherever they are located.
